I grew up on a farm in the midwest. here's the story.
Hens will not lay eggs until they have been with a Rooster !
Once they have been with a rooster, The sperm is stored. this allows the Hen to lay fertile eggs for a very long time.
So basicly all eggs are fertilized. It is the refrigeration that stops the development of the Yoke. ***HA HA JOKES ON ME*** I just found out I am full of Donkey Dung. They will lay eggs. They will lay earlier if they are around a rooster and longer and bigger eggs. (I had to call My Uncle that raised me about it.) Thanks cause I always thought they wouldn't start with out a rooster....See just goes to show ( you can learn something new every day) Oh I ask him about the nutrition differance He said he didn't know for sure. But he thought that since the fertile egg would be developing there might be more and differant types of ammino acid's (Protein chains) in the fertile eggs .If so then they would be healthierHen question? Is it true that fertilized eggs are more healthy for you????
Yes. Fertilized eggs automatically carry more nutrience because more nutrience is needed to bring the chick to life.
So eat quick.Hen question? Is it true that fertilized eggs are more healthy for you????
Fertilized eggs do not make any difference, they simply have sperm in them.
Pastor H - hens lay eggs without roosters, mine are doing so right now. Eggs are like a woman's period to them, they only need a rooster to have fertile eggs.
Plus, the eggs you buy in the store are from hens kept in battery cages. They are crammed in there w/ five other hens, no rooster.
*update to Pastor H's update!* I guess you do learn new stuff everyday! Haven't you ever noticed how tiny those store bought eggs are?? They're tiny and have really thin shells, so there's nothing that beats farm-fresh eggs! And I figure that they do start earlier with a rooster...(I've always kept the hens and roos together until the roosters start fighting, and I've always gotten giant exellent-tasting eggs)
maybe I never thought of it before.
no such thing, if your talkin chicken rooster
i think it doesnt matter.
I believe that there may be some minimal heath benefits associated with eating chick embyro's as opposed to just an ordinary egg. The very thought of eating a chick embyro, though, is utterly disgusting to me. Ewww!! No thanks!!
well YUCK! who would want to eat one of those??? But I would say yes to the question...
LOL - yes.
Grosssss no
dont matter
