True or False science question?

-Galileo built the first telescope to be used to view the heavens.True or False science question?
To view the heavens? Yes. Prior to to his action, it was used to view ships coming in to harbor. Sadly, this was because of money.True or False science question?
Galileo was the first to build one strong enough to view the craters of the moon but he did not invent the telescope, and neither did Hans Lippershey. Like most great inventions everybody wants to claim credit. Between Galileo, Lippershey, Metius, and Janssen it is hard to say who did what. It is fairly likely that rougher models existed long before any of them. It is pure speculation but I would bet that Egypt had a similar optical device that helped them plot the pyramids.
Everyone is saying false. I am going to say true. Yeah, I know it's not the right answer, but I just want to go against the crowd. Also, I don't want that answer to get lonely!
Galileo didn't invent the telescope(Hans Lipperhey did), but he did use it to study the heavens(or better said today...outter space).
Archimedes
